The Ides of May
So it’s finally getting warm here. Apparently Mother Nature decided we didn’t really need Spring this year. The temps weren’t bad but the wind was bitter cold. And now it’s Summer. Like the Weather woke up one day and decided “Ok I’ll be the exact opposite of what I was yesterday.” Very weird.
In stringy news, Mum’s shawl is done except for the blocking. I will do that while she is out of town in a few weeks. I’m still hoping to get her socks done for her birthday, F&M’s baby blanket has begun (standard SC pattern and an edging to be chosen later), And D&K’s baby quilt has been cut out. I need to take an evening to piece the top so Mum and I can layer it before she goes gallivanting around a tropical paradise, from which I have told her she must bring me yarn. I have yarn from the southernmost spot in the continental US and now I need some from the southernmost state in the US. And of course one of these days I hope to have yarn from two countries rumored to be being taken over by sheep. And maybe some fabric from these lovely people. An international stash is a worthy goal right?
In programming news, my plan to take my first cert this Friday was derailed over the weekend by my dev environment not having some basic SDK tools. It took 4 hours to download and install one of them. I am now hoping that I’ll be done with the studying by the end of the week and be able to take the test next week. But that all depends on if and when I get a job offer. I should hear from one company (that I would love to work for) this week and this afternoon I have another interview, which I was warned might yield an offer on the spot. Either way, I am learning tons of stuff.
P.S. Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes.
